The Brooklyn Nets are the odds on favorite to win the 2022 NBA championship.
Brooklyn was also this season’s betting favorite but lost in round two to the Milwaukee Bucks.
2020 champions Los Angeles Lakers and the back to back 2017 and 2018 title winners Golden State Warriors are second and third in the BetOnline App oddsboard.

The Nets were the odds on favorite to win the 2021 title heading to the playoffs but injuries to James Harden and Kyrie Irving ultimately doomed them in their second round series against the Milwaukee Bucks. Like the Nets, the Lakers were also hounded by injuries to LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Los Angeles struggled to make the playoffs and were ousted by the Phoenix Suns in the opening round. But with everyone presumed to be healthy at the start of the 2022 campaign, the Nets and Lakers are on top of the totem pole once again.
Scarier Next Season
The 2020-21 Brooklyn Nets were:
• 2nd in the East
• 2nd in points per game
• 2nd in three point percentage
• and the Big 3 only played together for 20 games, including the playoffs

The Nets entered the 2020-21 season among the favorites with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant playing together for the first time since their arrival in Brooklyn. The Nets emerged as the consensus betting favorite to win the 2021 NBA title after acquiring James Harden in a trade with the Rockets. They further solidified their status by adding forward Blake Griffin via the buyout market.
But injuries prevented the Nets’ three All-Stars from playing together for the most part of the regular season. Despite that, Brooklyn finished with the second best record in the East. The Nets looked dominant against the Celtics in round one but after losing Harden in the opening game of the Milwaukee series, things began to go downhill. Irving got hurt too in the middle of the series and when Harden came back, the Bucks had already picked up momentum and beat the Nets in a thrilling 7-game series.
Lakers Run it Back

The Lakers were on the right track in their title retention bid. Then LeBron James and Anthony Davis got hurt and they struggled to make it to the postseason. In the playoffs, Los Angeles took a 2-1 lead against the Phoenix Suns but then Davis got hurt and that was all she wrote for their season.
The big questions for Los Angeles are free agents Andre Drummond and Dennis Schroder but with Drummond recently saying that he wants to run things back with LeBron and AD, there’s no doubt that a healthy Lakers team is still tough to beat, especially in a seven-game series. Hopefully, AD will have a healthy year in 2022.

The oddsmakers are high on the Warriors next season because the Dubs will be having Klay Thompson back after two injury seasons. Golden State missed the playoffs for the second straight season despite having Steph Curry back this year. The Warriors made it all the way to the play-in tournament where they lost to the upstart Memphis Grizzlies.
Aside from having Thiompson back, Golden State will be picking 7th overall in the upcoming 2021 Draft. Golden State recently hired Kenny Atkinson to help in player development and hopefully, he’s going to help James Wiseman. With the Splash Brothers back, there’s no question why the Warriors are third in the early odds board.
