It can be recalled that Felipe called out Arlovski after defeating Jake Collier at UFC 263 last month. The win was his third straight after losing to Serghei Spivac via majority decision in his UFC debut last July 2020.
The 26-year old Brazilian started his MMA career in various Brazilian regional promotions and amassed a record of 8-0 with six first round knockout victories before joining the UFC last year. He is 3-1 inside the UFC Octagon and has an overall record of 11-1 with six knockouts.
Felipe has gone the distance in all of his UFC bouts and he has not recorded a knockout since signing with the promotion. It would be extra special for this up and comer to get his first UFC knockout against a former UFC heavyweight champion and one of the all-time greats. However, beating Arlovski is easier said than done.

Arlovski recently fought at UFC Vegas 24 last April, stepping in for Porter Parker who pulled out of the event for undisclosed reasons. Despite taking the fight on short notice, Arlovski outpointed Sherman using his veteran savvy and picked up his 20th victory inside the UFC Octagon.
With the victory, Arlovski has won three out of his last four fights and is currently in his best stretch since 2013-2015 when he won six consecutive bouts. The Belarusian Pitbull has a record of 31-20 with 17 wins via knockout and three by way of submission. Arlovski owns the UFC record with 35 heavyweight fights and 20 wins in the division.
A former UFC heavyweight champion, the 42-year old Arlovski is way past his prime and isn’t anywhere near title contention right now. Arlovski is merely trying to extend his UFC career for as long as he can and with his experience and technical skills, he has done a good job at it, at least for far. However, he faces a tough test against the hard-hitting Felipe who is looking to record his first UFC knockout.
